Young Designers' Scholarship Competition
The Young Designers' Scholarship Competition is a house design contest for high school students interested in drafting, architecture or home building. The competition is open to any student enrolled in a public or private secondary school from the Cities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Poquoson, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach and Williamsburg, and the Counties of Accomack, Gloucester, Isle of Wight, James City, Mathews, Northampton, Southampton and York.
Any high school or technology center located in one of the aforementioned geographic areas is eligible to apply for a grant of up to $1,000, to be used for an equipment or material purchase for the school's drafting/design program. To apply for the grant, you must fill out the Equipment Grant Application, including a statement of why you feel your program deserves/needs the grant and how you would use it.
