Types of Membership
CVBIA membership is company-based, and all listed representatives of an active member company are eligible to receive local CVBIA benefits and participate in events and programs. Memberships are year-round and renew annually based on each member’s renewal month.
Please note, additional state and national benefits are available through the Home Builders Association of Virginia (HBAV) and National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) depending on membership and affiliation.
Cornerstone Membership (starting at $2,500)
Elevated membership for companies investing at the highest level of engagement.

Licensed builders, remodelers, and developers working in residential construction.

Associate Membership ($750)
Suppliers, service providers, lenders, and professionals supporting the building industry.

Sub B/C Membership ($495)
For licensed Class B or C subcontractors specializing in trade work.
Sub BC members are typically small businesses with 1–5 employees operating as subcontractors rather than general contractors.
This membership provides opportunities to connect with builders and developers, increase project visibility, and build strong working relationships within the local construction network.

HBAV & NAHB Affiliation
All CVBIA memberships include affiliation with the Home Builders Association of Virginia (HBAV) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
Please note: state and national benefits are extended to the primary representative listed on the membership record.
Through this affiliation, the primary representative receives access to industry advocacy, resources, education, and member benefits at the state and national levels.
Councils & Committees
Members are encouraged to enhance their involvement by participating in CVBIA councils and committees. These opportunities allow members to expand their network, engage in industry initiatives, and take part in leadership and professional development within the association.
Affiliate Membership ($50)
Affiliate membership is not required to receive local CVBIA benefits. All representatives of an active member company may participate in local events and receive local member benefits.
Affiliate membership is only needed if a representative wishes to extend their involvement to include state and national benefits through HBAV and NAHB, which are available when the company holds an active Associate or Builder membership.
Affiliate members may also participate in NAHB-affiliated councils, including the Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council and the Remodelers Council, if eligible.
