Municipal Affairs

The CVBIA Municipal Affairs Committee serves as a direct link between the building industry and local governments throughout Coastal Virginia. The committee monitors local policies, regulations, development trends, and issues affecting the housing and construction industry while fostering relationships with municipal leaders and staff.

Municipal Affairs Committees meet quarterly in the following localities:

  • Virginia Beach
  • Chesapeake
  • Norfolk
  • Suffolk

CVBIA Government Affairs team also monitors issues and agendas in Hampton, Newport News, James City County, Isle of Wight and Poquoson.

These meetings provide members with valuable updates on local government initiatives, development activity, regulatory changes, and advocacy efforts impacting the building industry. Through participation, members gain insight into local issues and have the opportunity to engage in discussions that help shape the future of housing and development in the region.
